These successes - the list could be continued for a long time - many were involved: business, council parties, Action Group, associations, planners and many, many citizens facing our city at heart.
Look forward to a new year with many positive changes in retail and a more attractive Geilenkirchener downtown. The budget of the city will be less cause for joy. But I am confident that the financial security concept does not strangle the increasing dynamism of the city. Sufficient space and opportunities for entrepreneurial success are present in our city, so that the momentum in the coming years, spurred by private sector critical projects.
